Process improvement can be a redesign project or a process improvement project. Process improvement projects can also be defined as Business Process Re-engineering or Continuous Improvement Programs. The goal is to improve the performance by transforming parts of the organization in which the scope might be limited to business unit level of major process.

Change management provides end-to-end change services focused on mobilizing and aligning key stakeholders to commit to and support the initiative. It is never conducted in isolation from a business initiative and serves as an "enabling pathway" that provides a framework to facilitate accepting and adopting new business solutions. In addition to providing change deliverables focused on mobilizing and aligning key stakeholders, the pathway also incorporates human resource planning activities to help ensure that employees affected by the initiative are prepared and equipped to work in the new environment. The pathway is built on the principle of building agreements that lead to action. By aligning leaders, project teams, and other organizational members who can affect success, broad acceptance and commitment to act on proposed solutions is generated and resistance is minimized.
