As the Department of Commerce pursues the goal of sustainable program performance improvement, EVM training will help accelerate the transformation. The EVM training will be greatly enhanced by KMSG Systems Groups experience working with government Program Managers to implement Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).  Training will provide an introduction to "best-practice" knowledge. The availability of ongoing support, mentoring, and surveillance, with a team experienced with the government program environments, will help to ensure that the newly learned skills are applied day to day in the operational environment.

Our EVM Training curriculum extends from introductory courses to advanced topics, including Control Account Management and EV Analysis and Forecasting. The courses are delivered with a “hands-on” approach based on case studies and practical exercises to put learning into practice. As an example, the IBR class includes students preparing the IBR plan, conducting interviews and presenting the final report. All classes are led by instructors with over 20 years experience in EVM.

Optimum class sizes range between 15 and 25 students. The curriculum of the courses provides for a variety of delivery formats that include:

  • Executive briefings consisting of a brief presentation and question and answer period
  • Basic EVM Content and Seminar courses are primarily presented in a lecture format with extensive class exercises
  • Highly interactive advanced EVM and Integrated Program Management courses follow case-based formats (pre-requisites: Program Management Using Earned Value).
